The Thunderhead scene in Speed Racer is electric

Speed Racer is a classic. Or at least, it should have been. The flashy colors, release date (right after a little picture called Iron Man) and the lack of a genuinely bankable actor made the anime adaptation into a critical and commercial dud. There is a strong minority of fans who unironically love the movie and it is easy to see why. It has heart, humor, and some really impressive visuals. The Thuderhead race that starts the movie is a good example of the humor and visuals part. The humor is all over the place.
