The Most Neighborly Sweet Sixteen

Round one of the Most Neighborly bracket is over. The results are surprisingly unsurprising. A lot of the favorites are going strong. Here are the results from the Top Thirty Two round of voting.

14 Wilson W Wilson (Home Improvement) vs 19 Marie Barone (Everybody Loves Raymond)
15 George Feeney (Boy Meets World) vs 18 Sid Phillips (Toy Story)
16 Joey Tribiani (Friends) vs 17 Porky (Earthbound)

So like we said, not a ton of suprises here. In fact, not many lower seed competitors survived the week. Only Mary Jane, Carl, and Dinkleberg moved on to the Sweet Sixteen. The reason that is surprising is that the seeding was not based on assumed popularity but the year the character debuted. And in Mary Jane's case, we used the 2001 film's release date which is significantly later than her original comic date. So it looks like the bracket is favoring the older neighbors with a larger historical context as opposed to newer neighbors.

Here are the match ups for the sweet sixteen round.
