This Devito Pikachu thing has gone waaaaay too far and I love it

For those of you have haven't heard about it yet, about a week ago an internet petition was created with the goal of getting renowned actor Danny Devito to provide the voice of Pikachu in the upcoming Detective Pikachu game. According to the change.org petition,

There are a number of us that feel as though Danny DeVito would be a prime fit for the voice acting role of the Detective Pikachu. We want to make this happen.

Pretty straightforward, right? Not right. All kinds of tech/nerdy website picked up this petition and it it currently sitting at 43,000 signatures. The creator of the petition has even complained that the petition gained so much steam on his Facebook page.

Hard to say if that's completely fair. On one hand, Kotaku can be the worst On the other hand, your petition has over  40,000 signatures. You gotta give their giant marketing arm a little credit there. Did you not want your petition to gain steam? There is even a video produced by Youtuber Tealhollow1 that shows what the game might look like if it gets Devito'd and it's pretty great.

We will update you if this goes any further and we really hope it does.
