The Greatest American Bracket

America. Sean Hannity knows that is "the greatest, best country God has ever given man on the face of the earth." No hyperbole there. America has a storied history, a ton of freedom, and some handsome citizens. We also have some incredible icons. Uncle Sam, The Statue of Liberty, and Rosie the Riveter are just a few of our many treasured American Icons. While they are all timeless, there hasn't been a new American icon in a while. Let's change that.

We are interested in answering the question, Who is the Greatest American in pop culture? To do that, we have assembled a list of our 32 favorite pop culture Americans from the usual fields of television, film, and video games with the addition of some essential Americans from professional wrestling for the first time in Mad Bracket Status history.

We have split them into four divisions (Live Action Television, Cartoons and Wrestling, Film and Comics, Video Games and Anime) and seeded them based on perceived Americanness. We realize it is pretty arbitrary but it led to some great match ups, so give us a break. Here are the first round match ups.
