The Deadliest Doctor Championship Round

Well that quite a week. Huge pushes from two of the competitors that ended in a complete overload of our system have led us to a very interesting Championship Round for our Deadliest Doctor bracket. Here are the results and your championship competitors.

32 Dr Wells (The Flash) vs 12 Dr Jones (Raiders of the Lost Ark)

7 Dr Doom (Fantastic Four) vs 30 Dr Krieger (Archer)

There is clearly a lot to unpack here. First of all we have to thank everyone who voted for the first time in this bracket. We saw a lot of new voters on the site from various sources. First of all, the Archer fans came out in droves to vote for Krieger and defeat Dr. Doom. To be fair to Doom, he mounted a momentous comeback even with some Twitter support for @LexLang, who voiced Dr. Doom in some of the recent Avengers cartoons.

Secondly, the Indiana Jones/Harrison Wells match up was incredibly close all week, with the lead being traded daily. On the final day, we had a bot attack in favor of Wells which ended up complicating things. We ended up calling that round of voting a tie and breaking it via the usual method, a live debate on the show. Nando won for Dr. Wells and he was able to move on to the final round, which means the final match up will be...

32 Dr Wells (The Flash) vs 30 Dr Krieger (Archer)

This is an unprecedented match up. The seeds are unbelievably low for a final round. In the past, higher seeds have had a lot more luck than lower seeds. In this case, the seeding was relatively arbitrary (historical first appearance) but still factored in the volume of story behind a character. In this case, some of the doctors that Wells and Krieger had to beat had existed for hundreds of years. Characters like Dr. Frankenstein and Dr. Watson have been re imagined countless times in the last few decades alone. Both were defeated in the first round by our champions.
